School meals Jesmond Gardens Primary School are provided by our catering team at a cost of £2.65 per day or £13.25 per week.  Here, your child will have a choice from a range of hot and cold food. 

As we are a cashless school, payment should be made directly via Arbor at the beginning of each week.  If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, lunch is provided free of charge as part of the Universal Free School Meal offer.

Even if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and receiving free meals as part of the universal offer, you should still check your eligibility for free meals as school will receive further income to support your child with their learning.

Of course, if you choose, your child may bring a packed lunch instead of having a school meal.  As we promote healthy eating, we ask you not to send chocolate, sweets or fizzy drinks in your child’s lunchbox but provide them with a healthy and balanced meal. As well as this,  can parents be mindful of children with allergies and refrain from adding any products with nuts e.g Nutella bars and spread. 

Please note that non-payment of dinner money will trigger a reminder via Arbor.

In order to support parents from building up school meal debt, where money has not been received by the given deadline, parents will be required to provide their child with a packed lunch until the debt is cleared. Any persistent and unresolved debts will be referred to the Trust’s finance team.
